I have always wanted to donate part of the proceeds from the Crazy Creatures sales to a good cause. With last weekend's successful debut, Canineassistants is a worthwhile cause for my "pay it forward" belief.

The Crazy Creatures want to help Canine Assistants
This summer, I was quite moved by the book "Through a Dog's eyes" by Jennifer Arnold, the founder and Executive Director of Canine Assistants, a non profit organization that trains dogs to help adults and children with disabilities. For more info, visit her site at www.canineassistants.org
Crazy creatures makes a public appearance.

Yes we managed to convince friends and family members to buy our Crazy Creatures for themselves or their pets. But the true test of how wonderful these Crazy Creatures are was at our sale booth at the Tower Grove Farmer's market this past Saturday. Though the day started out with grey clouds and a drizzle, the smiles on the Creatures made the clouds go ahead and many Creatures went to new homes. We met some wonderful people and many Etsians at the market.
What a wonderful venue for us. You all come back to see us on October 9 and 23 now!

Hello Everyone,
I've decided to start this blog about the Crazy Creatures. The blog will features the production, staging, adventures, and inspirations that make up the world of Crazy Creatures.
What in the world are Crazy Creatures anyway? Essentially they are plush dog or cat toys that resemble morphed rabbits. The figures stem from the vivid imagination of my son Ernie and are sewn by my skillful hands. We fell in love with this dog toy one day and decided to make a "whole army" of them. Ernie's imagination was all consuming as we decided not only to make GI Joes types but also all different kinds ( villagers, snow kind, valentines, weird sci-fi kinds). For me, it was just an excuse to buy more fabric...I also love making them because they use up a by-product of my angora rabbit yarn production ( www.exquisitelyangora.com and www.angorayarn.com). All the fibers that are not good enough for yarn are actually perfect for felting and stuffing these Crazy Creatures.
While we have made up about 50 by now and sold none on etsy so far, we hope this blog will bring popularity to these delightful creatures. Ernie's endearing heart wants to give the profit we make to charitable causes. I love the time I spend with my son.
